[d-Link unveils new web cameras with infrared illumination for night vision.]
Las Vegas, Nevada -- D-Link today unveiled new network camera solutions for day/night recording and monitoring from virtually anywhere via a range of mobile device apps and the mydlink.com portal. Building on the successful introduction of the sub-$100 mydlink-enabled Wireless N Camera (DCS-930L) in Q4/2010, the company is demonstrating new cameras with night vision capability and advanced video compression with accessibility from PCs, iPhone or Android phones, iPads and from an HDTV via the Boxee Box by D-Link.Of the new cameras being introduced at CES this week, the Day/Night Wireless N Camera (DCS-932L) delivers all of the features of the DCS-930L, including 802.11n Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), Motion JPEG and 20fps streaming, but adds powerful infrared (IR) illumination for night vision up to 5 meters (16.4 feet).
Unlike a traditional USB-connected webcam, all mydlink-enabled cameras are complete monitoring systems with built-in CPUs and web servers that transmit high quality video images for security and surveillance directly to the network without the need for a PC. Simple installation and an intuitive web-based interface offer easy integration to an existing home network.
Stay connected to what matters most
Due to the camera's compact size, users are offered a discreet and flexible way to check on their home, children or pets in real time from virtually anywhere with Internet access or within the customer's mobile network.
mydlink-enabled cameras allow consumers to stay connected to everything they love 24/7. Users can remotely view and record home interiors, exteriors, package deliveries, possessions, children, sleeping babies, pets and homebound relatives. It's all available via a simple, secure mydlink.com browser page or from a free mydlink™ app on a mobile device. Just login from anywhere and keep an eye on everything that's near and dear.
These "always on" Wireless-N network cameras (or IP cameras) can be placed anywhere there's a power outlet, and with storage solutions like the newly introduced D-Link Network Attached Storage Solutions DNS-320 and DNS-325, users can easily archive video files for later review.
No more set-up hassles, view on your mobile device
Network cameras used to be complex and required technical set-up knowledge. You had to open up ports, assign static IP addresses and jump through a bunch of configuration hoops to get them working properly for remote viewing. However, with mydlink, there's no need to configure IP cameras for specific router set-ups. The cameras set up in minutes, and users can quickly launch a browser from anywhere, go to mydlink.com and see their cameras recording in real time.
And, with the mydlink iPhone, Android or iPad app, you can view your camera feed from any Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G connection. Monitor on-the-go even if you don't have access to a computer. Simply download the free mydlink app (from the iTunes Store or Android Market Place) and you're all set to see live video feeds or capture pictures to share with friends and family. With the upcoming iPad app, users can simultaneously view up to four camera feeds.
With the upcoming availability of a mydlink app on the Boxee Box by D-Link, users can access their live camera feed from their couch, directly on their HDTV, offering a convenient alternative to a PC or other mobile device.
These new camera solutions are designed for extreme ease of use and set-up with any Wireless network. D-Link® whole-home networking gear, however, ensures that your Wireless-N signal covers every inch of the property and performs optimally so you can connect, view, work, play, entertain, and share whenever you want to, and wherever you are.
All D-Link cameras also ship with D-ViewCam™ camera management software which includes recording and motion detection features for a complete and cost-effective home monitoring solution.
